Oxacillin Capsules are used for treating pneumonia caused by penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus and skin and soft tissue infections, etc.
Dosage and Administration:
Take orally on an empty stomach.
Adults: General infection: 0.5 - 1.0g per dose; Severe patients: 1 - 1.5g per dose, 3 - 4 times a day.
Children: 70 - 100mg/kg per day, divided into 3 - 4 times.
Newborns: For those weighing less than 2.5kg, 120mg per day; for those weighing more than 2.5kg, 160mg per day.
Patients with mild or moderate renal function impairment do not need to adjust the dose. Patients with severe renal function impairment should avoid using high doses to prevent central nervous system toxic reactions.
Adverse Reactions:
The main gastrointestinal reactions include nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, diarrhea, loss of appetite, etc. Allergic reactions such as drug rash and drug fever may also occur. In some cases, there is an increase in serum aminotransferase levels, and the symptoms disappear after discontinuation of the medication. Severe doses may cause neurological reactions such as convulsions, spasms, confusion, and headache. Neutropenia or agranulocytosis may occasionally occur, which can lead to bleeding tendencies in individuals with specific sensitivities. Acute interstitial nephritis accompanied by renal failure has also been reported. In some cases, secondary Candida infection may occur.
Precautions:
1. Before using this product, it is necessary to inquire about the history of drug allergies in detail and conduct a penicillin skin test.
2. Those who are allergic to one type of penicillin may also be allergic to other penicillin-based drugs and penicillamine. About 5% to 7% of those with a history of penicillin-induced anaphylactic shock may have cross-allergy to cephalosporin drugs.
3. Patients with allergic diseases such as asthma, eczema, hay fever, urticaria, and liver diseases should use this product with caution.
